What do women love more than shoes and diamonds? Maybe having a classy cocktail in a fancy restaurant where one can't help but feel a like a Hollywood royalty.
The collaboration between the designers of the world-famous French brand Christian Louboutin and the head bartender at Bar Rivoli is a dream come true for any lady.
The story dates back to 1951 when the American actress Tallulah Bankhead arrived at the The Ritz Hotel in London. On her second night there she held a press conference during which she poured champagne inside her high-heel shoe and tasted it in front of the stunned audience. Now 63 years later a cocktail named after the actress – Tallulah is served in Bar Rivoli in The Ritz Hotel. It is crafted by the head bartender Walter Pintus and inside you can taste the traditional Japanese drink Soshu, jasmine tee, vermouth Cinzano Bianco, essence of Geranium and Piper Heidsieck champagne.
The cocktail itself is consumed from a crystal glass which is a replica of the model of the legendary Piper-Heidsieck Christian Louboutin shoe. The Tallulah is priced at £20 at The Rivoli Bar at The Ritz Hotel.
